1. Who we are

Northern Tec Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is registered in England & Wales (Company No. 15699109). Our registered office is 47 Rossall Rd, Cleveleys, Thornton-Cleveleys FY5 1HG. We are the data controller for any personal data you share with us.

2. What we collect

• Contact details you give us (name, phone, email, postcode, property address).
• Details of the work you're enquiring about.
• Records of correspondence (calls, emails, messages).
• Certificates and reports we issue (EICR, installation, etc.).
• Basic analytics data when you visit our website (anonymised page views, device type).

3. Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiry and provide a written estimate.
• To carry out and document any work you instruct us to perform.
• To issue compliance certificates and meet our legal obligations.
• To follow up on completed work and (where you've opted in) send service reminders.

4. Lawful basis

We process your data on the basis of (a) your consent when you submit an enquiry form, (b) the performance of a contract when we carry out work for you, and (c) our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, assessed against your rights and freedoms.

5. Sharing your data

We never sell your data. We share it only with: our CRM and email providers (acting as processors), the NICEIC where required to lodge certificates, and our accountant/insurer where strictly necessary.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiry data: up to 24 months. Job records and certificates: 7 years (to meet HMRC and NICEIC retention rules). Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our use of your data, and the right to data portability. Email info@northerntec.co.uk to exercise any of these rights.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies needed to make the site work and anonymous analytics to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
