Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

"We", "us" and "our" mean Northern Tec Ltd, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 15699109). "You" means the client engaging our services. "Work" means the electrical installation, testing, certification or maintenance services we agree to perform.

2. Quotations & estimates

Written quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Verbal estimates are indicative only. Quotations exclude works not visible at the time of survey (e.g. concealed damage, sub-standard existing wiring), any additional work will be quoted separately and agreed in writing before being carried out.

3. Acceptance

A contract is formed when you accept our written quotation in writing (including email) or when we begin work at your request, whichever is earlier.

4. Payment terms

  • Invoices are due within 7 days of issue unless stated otherwise.
  • Larger projects may require a deposit and staged payments, set out in the quotation.
  • Late payments may attract interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, per the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  • Certificates are issued once payment is cleared.

5. Workmanship guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. NICEIC-registered domestic installations are additionally covered by the NICEIC Platinum Promise. Manufacturer warranties on supplied equipment apply separately.

6. Cancellations

You may cancel a booked job up to 48 hours before the agreed start date at no charge. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a charge to cover allocated labour and materials. Consumer clients have statutory rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

7. Access & site conditions

You agree to provide safe access, adequate working space and an isolatable electricity supply. Delays caused by lack of access or unsuitable conditions may be charged at our standard hourly rate.

8. Liability

We hold £5m public liability insurance. Our total liability under any contract is limited to the value of that contract, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited (e.g. death or personal injury caused by negligence).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
